When most people think of hypnotherapy they think of stage hypnosis like; making someone bark like a dog or think they are someone else. This is not the premise, nor the practice of hypnotherapy.
Contrary to popular misconceptions, during the process of hypnosis, the patient is in complete control at all times. Unlike the antics of stage hypnosis, Hypnotherapy is a process that is done with you not to you. A therapist is unable to hypnotise you against your will and you are able to hear everything the therapist is saying throughout a session.
